NEGDS Safety Policies

Everyone must wear safety glasses at all times, in the pit area.
No smoking in the hot pits.
No alcohol in the pits.
All sleds must have a working tether.
Each sled must have an adequate, safe clutch guard, or it will not be allowed to run.
Any time a sled is started, the tether cord must be attached to someone (not just hand held).
A sled cannot have the clutch engaged in the pit area, only in front of the clean out boards.
Only ISR approved jack stands may be used.
Each team should have a fire extinguisher at their disposal.
No minors roaming in the pit area.
All drivers must attend drivers meeting; failure to do so will be a DQ.
Any team starting or running a sled during drivers meeting will be fined or DQed.
Any team starting or running a sled during National Anthems will be fined or DQed.
Driver must have long pants, shirt, hard soled shoes, safety vest, helmet & eye protection.
A driver and only 2 helpers allowed at the line.
It is the team’s responsibility to have a jack stand behind their sled at the starting line.
Anyone deemed to be acting detrimental to the event on or off the track, will be removed.
Teams must control fuels, oils, greases, & coolants so to not contaminate the environment.
Drivers must keep a safe speed while in the return lane & pit area failure to do so is a DQ.
